Cribl.Cloud Goes to Washington: Cribl.Cloud Government FedRAMP® Authority to Operate Milestone

Last edited: January 29, 2026

Way back in 2009, when I was serving as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army, I worked in a network operations center for a deployed Army unit. Our mission was to provide network connectivity across central and northern Iraq. Our observability tools were incredibly limited. We had a network map that would turn nodes and network links red, yellow, and green when they were up or down. We had to write down in a physical logbook any status changes and what we did about them. It was challenging to understand what was happening or to make sense of it all.

Thankfully, observability has gotten much better since then. After leaving the Army and transitioning into IT and Security product development, I've dedicated my career to solving the very problems that plagued me over eight years and two deployments.

At Cribl, we love and are proud to support our government customers. They do vital work and use Cribl to control their data and be good stewards of taxpayer dollars. But they haven't been able to take advantage of our full product suite. Up until now, we have been limited to offering these customers our self-hosted Stream and Edge products. That changes today!

Announcing Cribl.Cloud Government

Cribl is excited to announce Cribl.Cloud Government, a cloud offering meticulously designed to meet the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP®) Moderate baseline! Today, we’ve achieved the significant milestone of Authority to Operate (ATO). We’ve built a fully functional offering that meets federal standards and have partnered with a government agency to go through auditing to validate our work.

Cribl.Cloud Government makes the entire Cribl product suite — Stream, Edge, Lake, Lakehouse, and Search — available to our federal and state government customers. The addition of Lake and Search to their toolkits will greatly expand the ways customers can solve hard data problems, take control of their data, and manage their ever-increasing costs associated with growing data volumes.

Crucially, Cribl.Cloud Government also provides customers with significant relief from the day-to-day challenges of operating a scaled data platform. No longer will your teams need to worry about procuring and managing complex infrastructure or endless maintenance cycles. Cribl handles the operational burden with a 99.9% uptime SLA, hosted Worker groups, and managed upgrades, so teams free up valuable time and resources. This means you can stop worrying about the underlying systems and instead focus entirely on solving the critical data challenges that directly impact your mission.

Cribl.Cloud Government represents a meaningful step forward for the teams who keep our country running. It gives public sector organizations the same choice, control, and flexibility that commercial customers already rely on, all within an environment that meets strict federal requirements. With this milestone, agencies and their partners can modernize with confidence and focus on the mission that matters most. The work continues, but today marks an important moment in bringing the full power of Cribl to the government community.

Cribl, the Data Engine for IT and Security, empowers organizations to transform their data strategy. Customers use Cribl’s suite of products to collect, process, route, and analyze all IT and security data, delivering the flexibility, choice, and control required to adapt to their ever-changing needs.
