Vodafone dials up business insights with Cribl Stream
Telecommunications providers need to keep services available, secure, and cost-efficient as telemetry data volumes continue to rise across networks, cloud platforms, applications, and security environments. Cribl and Amazon Web Services (AWS)™ help telecom teams bring order to that complexity by giving them more control over how data is collected, shaped, routed, stored, and analyzed across workflows.
The challenge
Telecom teams are under constant pressure to maintain visibility across distributed infrastructure without overwhelming budgets or operations teams. As telemetry data grows and environments become more complex, organizations are often forced to choose between full visibility, efficient operations, and sustainable storage costs.
The solution
Cribl empowers AWS customers in telecom to modernize their data management strategy. Network, IT, and security teams gain the choice, control, and flexibility they need to adapt to changing demands, ensuring that the right data is available in the right formats, from CDRs, IPDRs, and signaling data to telemetry from OSS, BSS, and network equipment vendors. Whether they're looking to manage growing volumes of network and security data cost-effectively, modernize OSS/BSS and security operations, meet retention and compliance requirements, onboard third-party network data, or enrich data in flight, Cribl is here to help.

Use cases
IMPROVED VISIBILITY ACROSS HYBRID ENVIRONMENTS
Gain better visibility across high-volume telecom telemetry, including CDRs, IPDRs, signaling data, and security logs. Instead of wrestling with fragmented pipelines, you get a single place to centrally control data collection. Parse, enrich, and structure these massive log streams in flight, ensuring data lands in the exact format required for rapid analysis.
SCALE MODERNIZATION INITIATIVES WITHOUT LOSING OPERATIONAL VISIBILITY
Modernize OSS, BSS, and cloud environments without creating blind spots. Move and reshape data across legacy and modern systems to keep visibility intact as your architecture evolves. This gives you much better predictability and control over downstream licensing and associated infrastructure costs.
REMOVE INTERNAL SILOS ACROSS TEAMS AND TOOLS
Break down data silos between network, IT, and security teams by making telemetry easier to collect, standardize, and route across the organization. Collect telemetry once and route data to multiple destinations simultaneously, giving every team the exact data they need without vendor lock-in.
STRENGTHEN SECURITY OPERATIONS AND COMPLIANCE
Improve security operations and support compliance requirements by routing the right data to the right destinations, retaining data cost-effectively, and transforming sensitive data when needed. Mask sensitive PII in transit, optimize data volume and costs by dropping low-value noise, and route full-fidelity archival data to Amazon S3 for on-demand replay whenever you need it.
IMPROVE VPC NETWORK OBSERVABILITY
Enable Amazon VPC Flow Logs to capture IP traffic for troubleshooting and security. Use Cribl Stream to collect and parse the logs from Amazon S3. Then, enrich or filter the data and convert key fields, such as bytes, packets, accepted or rejected flows, and traffic by interface or destination, into metrics for monitoring and capacity analysis. Keep the full-fidelity flow logs in an S3 bucket for Cribl Search to query the data in place for historical investigations, including aggregations of traffic volume and rejected connections, without requiring you to rehydrate them into your SIEM.
