In a Toxic Relationship with Your Current Observability Search Tool? There’s Other Fish in the Sea

Written by Perry Correll

February 6, 2023

IT tools are similar to romantic relationships. Over time, you tend to fall into the same old dull routines, like Rupert Holme’s song Escape (The Piña Colada Song). That routine — collect dataset, route, ingest ($$) and then search, collect dataset, route, ingest, then search, … this approach is not only breaking your heart but your budget too.

We know it’s breaking your heart – there is so much data, you have to make choices of what’s most important, what can probably be ignored, and with so much data out there, maybe you have trouble finding the answer you’ve been looking for.

It’s breaking your budget – because analysis licenses don’t come cheap and while the volume of data keeps growing, your budget isn’t. So returning to breaking your heart, you’ll have to commit to what data is worth the cost of analyzing. And what you must let go, forever.

Now, to steal and butcher a line from Rupert:

🎵 I’ve got to meet you by February 14th, noon, and cut through all the confusion

At a webinar from a company called Cribl, where we’ll plan your Escape! 🎶

With Cribl Search, it’s NOT about replacing your existing search tools, those you have grown comfortable and fond of. It’s about leveraging Cribl Search to reignite (the love) and the way you search all the data existing across your enterprise.

Back to Rupert:

I never knew
That you like pina coladas
And gettin’ caught in the rain
And the feel of the ocean
And the taste of champagne.
You’re the lady I’ve looked for
Come with me and escape

Back to Cribl:

You never knew
That you could search data in place
And make friends in finance
And never having to say no to precious data
It’s the perfect romance.
You’re the solution I’ve looked for
Come with Cribl and escape

So, in keeping with the theme of Valentine’s Day, let’s try a speed date. This webinar will be about 40 minutes, however, if you are not fully enamored in the first 5 minutes, you can leave. No hard feelings. Or think of this as a blind date, or ‘It’s Only Lunch’. Will be fun, will be informative, and might just be enough to entice you for a second date.  To register, click here

We hope to see you on the 14th! ♥️
