Although we’ve encouraged employees to take plenty of time off this summer to relax, recharge, and enjoy time with family, Cribl certainly hasn’t been on a summer holiday as a company. After the big announcement in late May with Cribl Search and our Series D funding round, we moved right into the announcement of Cribl Stream 3.5, Cribl Edge 3.5, massive upgrades to Cribl.Cloud, and the launch of our Cribl Certified Observability Program. We’re not quite ready to call it quits for summer announcements. Today, we’re thrilled to announce that Cribl has been named to CRN’s 2022 Emerging Vendors list in the Big Data category!
“As part of our 2022 Emerging Vendors list, CRN recognizes technology vendors that are transforming the IT channel by providing revolutionary and innovative products that help customers manage ever-evolving IT demands,” said Blaine Raddon, CEO of The Channel Company. “As a trusted industry resource, CRN’s Emerging Vendors list gives solution providers insight into the latest groundbreaking IT channel technologies.
“Cribl is honored to have been named to CRN’s 2022 Emerging Vendors list,” says Zac Kilpatrick, VP of Global Channels at Cribl who was recently recognized as a Channel Chief by CRN. “At Cribl, we pride ourselves on the value and innovation we bring to our customers and partners. Our suite of products, combined with the expertise of our great channel partners, give customers across industries the ability to have the choice and control to do what they want with their data in order to drive business outcomes.”
As customers face challenges with rising data volumes and budgets that are not expanding as rapidly, Cribl brings solutions to increase control over observability data while controlling cost and unlocking choice regarding formats and destinations. Our products provide operations and security teams unprecedented visibility into what’s happening in increasingly complex infrastructure and cybersecurity environments.
Cribl Stream is a vendor-agnostic observability pipeline that allows IT and operations professionals to collect, reduce, enrich, normalize, and route observability data from any source to any destination within an existing data infrastructure. Using Stream, organizations can fully control their data, empowering them to choose how to treat their data to best support overall business goals.
Cribl Stream Use Cases:
Cribl Edge provides the flexibility and control administrators love from Stream, now running at the edge. Combined with automatic log discovery and metrics production, Cribl Edge empowers developers and operations teams to discover relevant telemetry hidden in unknown and legacy applications with limited tooling.
In our June 3.5 update to Cribl Edge, we added support for Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022, bringing that same intuitive experience for deploying, setting up, and collecting observability events to your Windows infrastructure. With Edge on Windows Server, security and IT professionals can harness and control the flow of Windows events at the source.
With the full power of Cribl processing at the Edge, Windows Server administrators can now control the flow of data like never before: dropping unimportant events, restructuring XML into JSON, and using intelligent routing to move data to the correct downstream destinations without restriction. In addition, Cribl Edge for Windows can send events to Stream for additional processing or send directly to S3, Splunk, Elastic, etc.
We announced Cribl Search in May and plan to release it in late 2022. Thus far, customer reaction has been outstanding! We’ve heard for some time that organizations have data everywhere. They have data in their observability lakes, analytics tools, object stores, and at the edge. The big challenge facing enterprises is that existing search models require you to take all of this data that you don’t know is valuable or not, move it into one place, and then make decisions about whether this is valuable? What else do I do with it? What do I do with it next? Do I keep it? This model is fundamentally flawed and doesn’t scale to meet modern challenges.
Cribl Search enables you to use the data without shipping it first. Then you can send valuable parts to another system for analysis or long-term storage. With volumes of data increasing and distributed architectures proliferating, it is critical to search in place to find ALL valuable data.
That doesn’t mean abandoning the current centralized system but deciding on the data before shipping it – it’ll save you time, money, and headaches while making tools you leverage! For example, you’re working with debug logs. They’re USELESS, except if you’re debugging an app. You can search it immediately without moving it if you’re debugging it. Otherwise, leave it where it’s at.
Cribl Search enables administrators to deploy a single, system-agnostic search capability to search anywhere, for any data type, and hosted in object storage or system of analysis without having to collect the data first.
To sum it up: Cribl Search unlocks a SCALE of data usable for administrators that didn’t previously exist.
We’re incredibly honored to be named an Emerging Vendor for 2022 by CRN, and we can’t wait to show you some of the exciting product enhancements in the pipeline!
